Inviting Your Team
Bring your colleagues into the workspace and organize channels
Saltare works best when your whole team is onboard. Inviting colleagues is straightforward, and you can organize conversations into channels from day one.
Sending Invitations
Navigate to Settings > Team in your workspace to invite new members. Enter their email addresses and they'll receive an invitation to join.
Invited members can:
- Join existing public channels
- Be added to private channels by existing members
- Start direct message conversations
- Create and be assigned tasks
- Edit documents collaboratively
- Interact with AI agents
Organizing with Channels
Channels are where conversations happen. There are several types:
Public Channels
Visible to everyone in the workspace. Great for:
- #general — Team-wide announcements and casual conversation
- #engineering — Technical discussions
- #marketing — Campaign planning and content reviews
- #random — Water cooler chat
Private Channels
Only visible to invited members. Use these for:
- Sensitive projects or discussions
- Leadership conversations
- Client-specific work
Direct Messages
One-on-one or small group conversations outside of channels.
Working with AI Agents
Once your team is set up, everyone can interact with AI agents by @mentioning them in any channel. For example:
@Assistant summarize the last 20 messages— Get a quick catch-up@Assistant create a task for the Q2 report— Create work items from chat@Researcher find recent news about our competitors— Kick off research
Agents respond in-thread, so conversations stay organized and context is preserved.
Tips for Getting Started
- Start with one channel — Don't over-organize from the start. Let channels emerge naturally from your team's needs.
- Pin important messages — Use message pinning to keep key decisions visible.
- Try an agent early — The sooner your team sees AI agents in action, the faster they'll adopt the workflow.
- Use keyboard shortcuts — Press
?anywhere to see available shortcuts. They speed up navigation significantly.
