Plan Limits & Upgrades
Understand resource limits, feature gates, and how to upgrade your workspace plan
If you've seen a message like "You've reached the limit" or "requires the Pro plan," this guide explains what plan limits are, why they exist, and how to resolve them.
Understanding Plan Limits
Each Saltare plan has limits on how many resources you can create. When you hit a limit, you'll see an alert message and the creation action will be blocked.
Resource Limits by Plan
| Resource | Starter | Pro | Business | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Members | 3 | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Agents | 2 | 10 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Connectors | 0 | 5 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Task Groups | 3 | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Doc Groups | 2 | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Databases | 1 | 5 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| AI Credits | 500 | 5,000 | 25,000 | Unlimited |
Common Limit Messages
"You've reached the limit of X on the Y plan"
This means you've used all available slots for that resource type. Options:
- Delete unused resources to free up slots (e.g., archive old task groups)
- Upgrade your plan to increase or remove the limit
"X requires the Y plan or higher"
This means the feature you're trying to use is gated behind a higher plan tier. You'll need to upgrade to access it.
Feature Gates
Some features are only available on certain plans:
| Feature | Required Plan |
|---|---|
| Connectors | Pro |
| Custom agent instructions | Pro |
| Trigger skills | Pro |
| Voice calls | Pro |
| Automation skills | Business |
| Task pipelines | Business |
| Agent collaboration | Business |
| Webhooks | Business |
How to Upgrade
- Navigate to Settings > Billing
- Click the plan you'd like to upgrade to
- Complete checkout through Stripe's secure payment page
- Your workspace upgrades immediately — no downtime
New workspaces get a 14-day free trial of paid plans. During the trial, all features of that plan are available.
AI Credits
What Are Credits?
AI credits are consumed each time an agent processes a request — responding to @mentions, executing tools, running automations. More complex requests use more credits.
"Credit Alert" Notification
When your credits are running low, you'll receive a credit_alert notification. This gives you time to either:
- Wait for credits to reset at your next billing cycle
- Purchase a credit top-up (2,500 credits) from Settings > Billing
Credits Not Resetting?
Credits reset automatically at the start of each billing cycle. If you've recently upgraded, your new credit allocation takes effect immediately.
Cancellation
If you cancel your subscription:
1. Your workspace enters a 30-day grace period with full access
2. After the grace period, your workspace downgrades to Starter
3. No data is deleted — but resource limits are enforced (excess resources become read-only)
To reactivate, subscribe to a paid plan again from Settings > Billing.
Still Stuck?
- Check Settings > Billing to see your current plan and usage
